    Surprise Hit: So far I have only been impressed by a few shows from the winter season starting with Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousuke because of the whole teens with super powers theme because that always interests me! Also I saw Kotoura-san which was a interesting blend of drama/comedy/romance themes which normally I pass on, but it was a very cool way to view having psychic powers…

    Biggest Disappointment: Probably all the five minute shorts? I was kind of looking forward to Senyu to provide that nichijou/nichibros style of wacky comedy set in a fantasy world! Also the same can be said about Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru I like it but something about it isn’t keeping me all that interested….

    Biggest news? Hmmm not sure other than the reveal of the voice actors for Doki Doki Precure because it has Naru and Fleur from Eureka Seven Ao! Hahaha

    Comparison to Previous Seasons: Winter < Spring that is all.

      I think this season will have a large gap between good (not great) shows, and just blah or terrible shows. I just don’t see a good spread across the board. And with all the shorts, it feels like no one wanted to waste their time with making full series for this season. Not a great way to start the year

    I Ilked Hero and Demon Queen anime;

    Best Sport Show: MAJOR, enough said;

    Nekomonogatari BOSS. Bakemonogatari Season 2 epic.

      I’ll be blogging Maoyuu this season. It’s an interesting show, but few will probably like it. I’m already seeing complaints this week that there isn’t enough boob in it, when last week the same people said there was too much. Go figure.

      The -monogatri series will get a lot of notice from the rest of the staff on this blog. Lots of hype.

    Agree with ‘Maoyuu’ being a “must watch” in an otherwise pretty dull season. ‘Sasami-san’ seemed like a mix between ‘Arakawa under the Bridge’ and Bakemonogatari with ‘Madoka’ style visuals.

      I’m going to have a lot of fun watching Maoyuu. So much of it appeals to the engineer in me. Hell, I just wrote 1100 words the the agriculture concept she introduces this week. Sasami-san was something. A comment during our group watch was “it looks like the rejected ideas from the making of Madoka”. I have no idea what I’m thinking of it yet, but I plan to at least watch 3 episodes of it to see. If you’re looking to fill your guilty pleasure harem slot, Ore no Kanojo to Osananajimi ga Shuraba Sugiru might be something to check out. I would avoid Tamako Market, unless you like retarded girls doing stupid things, with an overweight talking parakeet that provides the only amount of humor that show will ever have. And if you like Macross, AKB0048 should help round out your schedule. But that’s just my 2 cents.
